From gyneco-ecology we approach gynecological sexuality, addressing the relationship between individuals with vulva and the environment in which they find themselves.
It is a holistic, interdependent approach, which includes all the aspects that affect the health of the person, sociocultural, psychoemotional and without disregarding the subjectivity and individuality of the person who is ill.
A symptom that involves the internal sexual organs (uterus, ovaries, cervix) or external (vulva, vagina), an absence or dysregulation of the menstrual cycle, intense symptoms prior to bleeding, lack of fertile energy, are manifestations and signs of an imbalance in some aspect of our life, whether physical, emotional, mental or spiritual.
People with vulva have not been educated to understand their bodies and their particular processes. Our feelings have not been validated, we have not been listened to, nor have we been treated with respect. The body has always been studied with a penis, little is known about our cyclicity. Our “condition” of being a woman has been defamed. And all this programming is stored in our unconscious and takes away the power of self-knowledge that naturally emerges when we feel self-love, and without this knowledge decisions are incomplete, we are deprived of agency over our bodies.
Gynecology is sovereignty, it is self-management. We take ownership of the body and of health and its processes.
Through education, we empower ourselves. Through empowerment we can reach self-realization as beings, recover the inner wisdom that has always been there.
Inhabiting ourselves, registering ourselves and knowing our inner-territory is necessary to be able to face with knowledge our most intimate experiences, relegated to the shadow of our unconscious.
From this perspective, we approach health in an integral way, taking into account daily habits, nutrition, sex-affective relationship with other people, body and sexual proprioception, rest and work habits, etc., in order to create health from this register. And, most importantly, body literacy to take control of our bodies and understand what happens at each moment of our lives and cycles.
Access to sexual and reproductive health is a key right for the well-being of women around the world. It is time to access the information we were never been given.
